Jasimuddin
(1 January 1903 – 13 March 1976; conceived Jasim Uddin), sobriquet Palli Kabi,
was a Bangladeshi artist, lyricist, exposition author, fables gatherer and
radio character.
Jasimuddin
was conceived in the town of Tambulkhana in Faridpur District on 1 January 1903
in his maternal uncle's home. His dad, Ansaruddin Mollah, was a teacher. Mother
Amina Khatun (Rangachhut) got early training at Faridpur Welfare School. He
registered from Faridpur Zilla School in 1921. Jasimuddin finished IA from
Rajendra College in 1924. He got his BA degree in Bengali from the University
of Calcutta in 1929 and his MA in 1931. From 1931 to 1937, he worked with
Dinesh Chandra Sen as a gatherer of people writing. Jasimuddin is one of the
compilers of Purbo-Bongo Gitika (Ballads of East Bengal). He gathered more than
10,000 people tunes, some of which has been incorporated into his tune
arrangements Jari Gaan and Murshida Gaan. He additionally composed voluminously
on the understanding and theory of Bengali fables. Jasimuddin
joined the University of Dhaka in 1938 as a teacher. He cleared out the college
in 1944 and the worked at the Department of Information and Broadcasting until
his retirement in 1962 as the delegate executive. Jasimuddin
began composing sonnets at an early age. As an understudy, he composed the
commended sonnet Kabar (The Grave), a basic tone to get family-religion and
catastrophe. The ballad was put in the passageway Bengali reading material
while he was as yet an understudy of Calcutta University.
Jasimuddin
is noted for his delineation of provincial life and nature from the perspective
of country individuals. This had earned the title as Palli Kabi (the provincial
artist). The structure and substance of his verse bears a solid kind of Bengal
legends. His Nokshi Kanthar Maath (Field of the Embroidered Quilt) is viewed as
a perfect work of art and has been converted into a wide range of dialects.
Jasimuddin
was presented with Abbas Uddin by writer Golam Mostofa in a melodic program
held in Kolkata in 1931.

Jasimuddin
was hitched to Begum Mamtaz Jasimuddin (d. 2006). Together they had tree children,
Jamal Anwar, Firoz Anwar and Khurshid Anwar, and two girls, Begum Hasna Moudud
and Asma Elahi. Hasna is the spouse of government official Moudud Ahmed.
Jasimuddin
kicked the bucket on 13 March 1976 and was covered close to his tribal home at
Gobindapur, Faridpur. A fortnightly celebration known as Jasim Mela is seen at
Gobindapur every year in January remembering his birthday.
